            Given side length is 48 inches,

            Convert inches to feet

                        1 inch = 0.083 feet

                        48 inch = 48 * 0.083 = 4 feet (Approximately)

            Area of the square = side * side

                                             = 4 *4

                                             = 16 square feet.
