In this blog we are going to discuss about math mean?aslo see the given link to know more statistics mean.
Mean is nothing but the average of any two or more numbers.
This is one of the most basic terms which are often in Statistics.
When a set of data is provided, to find the mean of that data one has to add up all the values provided in the data and divide the sum of the values with the number of values in the datasheet.
It is nothing but the sum divided by the count.
For example: -
There are 8 numbers in a data and they are 2, 4, 9, 6, 7, 5, 4, 3. So, now we will find the mean of the numbers.
STEP 1: -
Add all the given numbers in the data
2+4+9+6+7+5+4+3=40
STEP 2: -
Divide the sum by the number of values given
The number of values given is 8.
Therefore, 40/8=5
The mean of the given numbers is 5.
Example: -
Find the mean of these numbers: 3, -7, 5, 13, -2
The sum of these numbers is 3-7+5+13-2 = 12
There are 5 numbers.
The mean is equal to 12 ÷ 5 = 2.4
Next time we will discuss more about this concept.
